Welcome.

Thank you for considering an EMDR intensive for your client.

I love partnering with other clinicians.

You may be here because you don't use EMDR and you'd like to offer this as a tool for your client to get "unstuck."

You may be here because you do offer EMDR, but don't have room in your schedule to block off an intensive session, and that's what you feel your client needs in order to break through this issue.

I would be happy to do a phone call with you, even before you send your client to me, to talk through the issues anonymously, with no identifying information, to ensure that this won't be a waste of time for you and your client.

I understand how scary it can be sometimes to refer clients out. I've heard the horror stories of terrible therapy experiences too (eating popcorn while someone is working through their trauma???) I will do everything I can to make sure your client feels safe, and secure, and connects with all the resourcing you've created before we dive into the deep end.

My Modalities

I use EMDR, EFT, IFS, Narrative, Systems, and RFPT extensively with my clients. I also use the “Notice That” Podcast Hosts’ way of case conceptualization, called SIP. According to Beyond Healing:

“SIP is an interpersonal neurobiology-based conceptualization tool that uses psychodynamic neurodevelopmental theory, adaptive information processing (AIP) and memory reconsolidation, and nervous system informed somatic psychology to assist clinicians in their ability to understand, interpret, and utilize diagnostic bio/psycho/social/cultural information about their clients.”

With EMDR I find myself using Somatic and Present-Moment Interweaves, as well as Cognitive Interweaves.

Going forward with an intensive...

If you decide to refer, and your client signs an ROI before we get started, then I will reach out to you in order to find out what your goals are, and why you are referring your client specifically. I will also offer them a "pre-session homework assignment" which is totally optional but will help them get the most out of their time in the session. That homework assignment would be even better if you help them to complete it. It will also help you to have something to look back on, to see how we are doing with the goals we discussed at the beginning.
